Mogotes de Florida
A mogote is a highly specific type of rounded hill, surrounded by plains, common in the outer spurs of Puerto Rico’s Cordillera Central. Florida—whose delegates fought fiercely for its independence at the Republic’s founding—chose the name to symbolize its aspirations to greatness.
